There is no such thing as bad weather only bad gear

Gear and Equipment is another love to me. Most of my adult career has been surrounded by Equipment for enjoying your self in the Wilderness. Even still it took a long time to find the perfect selection for our bike trip. We are not travelling extremely light because we carry a lap top, usually a large selection of books, and plenty of food but we do travel a lot lighter then others. This is what works for us if you would like to use it as  guideline for your own trip one day. Absolutely all of this Equipment:  Kitchen, Sleeping Arrangements, Clothes, Bikes and Gear all came from the shop that I worked at The Wilderness Supply Co. and Winnipeg’s great Bike store Bikes and Beyond.

This is a List of the Food we usually have

•Eggs (I keep them in a zip lock, place them nicely back in their cardboard and then store them in my pot. Have not broke any yet)

•Chips, Crackers, Cookies...The good stuff

•Coffee, Tea + Hot Chocolate

•Gatorade

•Pepper, salt, mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, mini jams (all from gas stations or Mcdonalds and I ask if it is OK before I take them)

We will often buy frozen Chicken or Meat and then eat it the next night. It is a bit heavier but a great way to get enough protein and we enjoy the social aspect of eating. By far and away most of our $ is spent on food.  We could travel for much less $ a day and eat bread, peanut butter and a lot of it, but this is not our style. We both like to eat way too much!
